Unity Hall and Business Space
Unity Hall and Business Space took over the old Unity House listed building in February 2018. With an array of offices, beautiful conference rooms and event halls, the venue has the ability to hold any type of event required. Located on Westgate in Wakefield, only 3 minutes from the train station and close to motorway links, Unity is a perfect location. Our onsite dedicated team are on hand to help with anything you might need.
The foundation stone of the building was laid in September 1901 as the home of The Cooperative Group. Over time, Unity House developed into the hub of Wakefield, becoming home to independent stalls and shops in the 1930’s, then developing further into the focal point of Wakefield’s music life in the 1960’s, before being redeveloped into a cultural hotspot in 2014. The building is still home to the late Victorian exterior, stained glass windows, beautiful craftsmanship and original features. We have now, once again, opened the doors to Unity as a business and events space in 2018.
“It was a shame to see a building with such character and history close it’s doors once again in 2017” says the General Manager of Operations, Liv Bennett. “The directors of Unity Hall and Business Space knew the importance of the building to the people of Wakefield, and as local men themselves, they wanted to give Unity a new lease of life! We look forwards to making Unity come alive once again!”
